Kate Blalock has been to seventeen countries on five continents. A former mechanic in the US Coast Guard, she has inspected fishing vessels off the coast of Cape Cod, bartered for fuel in Haiti, and replaced engine parts during a storm at sea. She has driven through twenty-eight states and been lost more times than she cares to admit. Her most recent adventure has been to New Zealand, where she hiked the Routeburn Track.
Kate is a former dog groomer, concert trumpet player, and mechanic. She has ridden a horse through the Great Smoky Mountains, renovated a log cabin in Michigan, and ran a 5K in New Hampshire. Currently, she is a homemaker, mother, and freelance writer. Kate is a Communications major at the University of North Dakota.
Kate lives with her husband, son, and crazy Husky in Michigan.
